We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the white and green asparagus season, alongside the exquisite Gariguettes strawberries that are gracing our markets. With Easter just around the corner, spring lamb is now at its peak, and we’re excited to showcase a local delicacy, “Anchaud,” in our upcoming culinary experience. Join us for a perfect short break in the stunning South West of France, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the rich flavors of the region, highlighting seasonal produce from local artisans. Over the course of three nights, you’ll enjoy market visits, relaxation, and indulge in outstanding food, exceptional wine, and delightful company. This unique getaway promises to leave you enchanted by the Lot-et-Garonne lifestyle, with its breathtaking views, serene ambiance, and a truly tranquil way of life. Come savor the essence of spring with us!

Example itinerary

 DAY 1 Friday; We will pick you up at Bergerac Airport and take the picturesque 30 minute drive to our house “Les Caulins”. A quick tour of our house, relax, kick off your shoes, have a drink & settle in. We will meet at 7pm for aperitifs, canapés and a 4 course dinner with local wines.

Confied pork Anchaud, roasted sarladaise potatoes, peas a la Francaise

House profiteroles, strawberry cream

DAY 2 Help yourself to; continental breakfast, croissants, toasted mais bread, house Jam, tea, coffee Juice, etc….

A visit to Ste Foy market to get some wonderful fresh ingredients and have a stroll around and a coffee in one of the cafés. Back at the house a lunch of award winning Goats Cheese that has been made just 2km from the house by the wonderful shepherdess Stephanie.

In the afternoon preparation of strawberry vacherin if yo wish.

Day 3 After a lie in. Help yourself to; continental breakfast, croissants, toasted mais bread, house Jam, tea, coffee Juice and decadent scrambled eggs by Emma. Lamb prep for dinner if you wish

Late Lazy French Sunday Lunch / Dinner French Sunday lunches are celebrated for the way people take their time to enjoy multiple courses of food accompanied by good wine and good conversation. We start with aperitifs and canapés, followed by whatever is in season. Cheese follows and a typically French dessert.

New season lamb board, fondant potatoes, lots of herbs, brebis

DAY 4 Monday Help yourself to; continental breakfast/ warm croissants, toasted mais bread, house Jam, tea, coffee Juice, etc….

Depending on you flight times; A visit to Maison Guingets chocolate shop/factory and a visit to Duras and our local market . A coffee at our local café Sylvies.


What’s included?

3 nights’ accommodation in a room with a super king-size bed, Egyptian cotton bed linen, flat screen TV, English channels, en-suite bathroom with walk-in showers;
All meals: breakfast, nibbles, lunch & dinner.
All aperitifs & wine with meals. Coffee, tea, biscuits and cakes.
All ingredients for the cookery course.
Bergerac airport pick up.
Transportation throughout the weekend.

What’s not included?

Please note that flights are not included in the package. If you would like to hire a car, it’s not necessary as we will provide transportation throughout the weekend. Our location is conveniently situated 35 minutes from Bergerac Airport and 80 to 100 minutes from Bordeaux.

Travelling from Bordeaux to our location is quite straightforward. The new tram system, which is located just outside the airport terminal, offers a direct route to Bordeaux’s central train station. From there, you can catch a direct train on the Bergerac-Sarlat-la-Canéda line, alighting at Ste Foy la Grande. We would be pleased to pick you up from the station, which is just a 15-minute drive north of our location.

Please note; Depending on seasonal changes, weather and the availability of local products menus are subject to change. Gourmet weekends are not cookery school weekends. We will be cooking for you. So you just relax and enjoy great food.
