Gourmet lifestyle weekend 5th July 2024

The Summer is in full bloom and all the night markets and evening vineyard soirees are underway. This 3 night weekend is a snapshot of what Emma & I do in the Summer.

Immerse yourself in our lifestyle. Come and experience what we get up to in the Summer. If you enjoy food and wine, eating out, eating in, cooking, all things gastronomic & the sunshine, Then this is the weekend for you. There is nothing better than a Summer in France. Our new Summer 3 night Gourmet Lifestyle Weekends, a blend of market visits, a touch of sightseeing, relaxing by the pool, a French Marché de Gourmande, wine tasting, great food, great wine and good company. The long weekend will leave you wanting more of the Lot-et-Garonne lifestyle with its sunny climate, far reaching views, peacefulness and relaxing way of life.

 Example itinerary

DAY 1 Friday We will pick you up at Bergerac Airport and take the picturesque 30 minute drive to our house “Les Caulins”. A quick tour of our house, relax, kick off your shoes, have a drink & settle in. We will meet at 7pm for aperitifs, canapés and a 4 course dinner with local wines.

In the evening we will go to a night market. French night markets are fantastic. Lots of people cooking local food, moules & frits, wild boar, fish, steak, pasta, crepes, ice cream all washed down with local wine and live music.

DAY 2 Help yourself to; continental breakfast/ warm croissants, toasted mais bread, house Jam, tea, coffee Juice, etc….

A visit to Ste Foy la Grande market, one of Frances busiest street markets, to get some wonderful fresh ingredients and have a stroll around and a coffee in one of the cafés. Back to the house for lunch and ready for some cooking in the afternoon. For those wishing to visit a winery we can visit a local vineyard and have a tour and taste some wine.

DAY 3 Help yourself to; continental breakfast/ warm croissants, toasted mais bread, house Jam, tea, coffee Juice, etc….

A morning by the pool and then lunch at Soumensac. Under the shade of lime trees local produces BBQ duck, beef and lamb, served with fries cooked in duck fat. Goats cheese salad, snails in garlic and all served with local wine and fresh baguette. The view is breath-taking. Back to the house and some more pool time and a little nap.

Our gourmet weekends are a perfect short break, in the beautiful South West of France, with the emphasis firmly on the all that is in season and from local producers. Three nights with highlights from our 5 day summer lifestyle break. A mix of market visits, lots of relaxing, wine tasting, a tiny bit of cooking, simply amazing food, great local wine and good company. The three night break will leave you wanting more of the Lot-et-Garonne lifestyle, far reaching views, peacefulness and relaxing way of life.


What’s included?

3 nights’ accommodation in a room with a super king-size bed, Egyptian cotton bed linen, flat screen TV, English channels, en-suite bathroom with walk-in showers;
All meals: breakfast, nibbles, lunch & dinner.
All aperitifs & wine with meals. Coffee, tea, biscuits and cakes.
All ingredients for the cookery course.
Bergerac airport pick up.
Transportation throughout the weekend.

What’s not included?

Please note that flights are not included in the package. If you would like to hire a car, it’s not necessary as we will provide transportation throughout the weekend. Our location is conveniently situated 35 minutes from Bergerac Airport and 80 to 100 minutes from Bordeaux.

Travelling from Bordeaux to our location is quite straightforward. The new tram system, which is located just outside the airport terminal, offers a direct route to Bordeaux’s central train station. From there, you can catch a direct train on the Bergerac-Sarlat-la-Canéda line, alighting at Ste Foy la Grande. We would be pleased to pick you up from the station, which is just a 15-minute drive north of our location.
