The weekend in summary
A perfect short break in the beautiful South West of France with the emphasis firmly on the all that is in season and from local producers. Three nights; A mix of market visits, relaxing, wine tasting, a tiny bit of cooking, great food, great wine and good company. The three night break will leave you wanting more of the Lot-et-Garonne lifestyle, far reaching views, peacefulness and relaxing way of life.
Peaches from Roussillon are beautiful; Lots of gourmet food from the BBQ on this weekend. Simple, beautiful, juicy and fresh and perfect for the Summer.

Itinerary
DAY 1 Friday We will pick you up at Bergerac Airport and take the picturesque 30 minute drive to our house “Les Caulins”. A quick tour of our house, relax, kick off your shoes, have a drink & settle in. We will meet at 7pm for aperitifs, canapés and a 4 course dinner with local wines.

BBQ cornfed chicken brochette, garlic and herb stuffing, dauphinoise, leaves

DAY 2 Help yourself to; continental breakfast, toasted mais bread, house Jam, tea, coffee Juice, Eggs if you wish etc….
A visit to Ste Foy la Grande market to get some wonderful fresh ingredients and have a stroll around and a coffee in one of the cafés. Back to the house for lunch and ready for some cooking in the afternoon.

Back at the house a lunch of award winning Goats Cheese that has been made just 2km from the house by the wonderful shepherdess Stephanie.

DAY 3 Sunday Help yourself to; continental breakfast, toasted mais bread, house Jam, tea, coffee Juice, Creamy scrambled eggs cooked by Emma etc….
Lunch will take place at the charming hilltop village known as “It’s a Secret.” We’ll gather at a vibrant marché de producteurs, nestled under the cool shade of lime trees. Local producers from the surrounding village will set up communal tables filled with delicious offerings. Expect a delightful array of dishes, including wood-fired breads, snails in garlic, fresh cheese, and Provençal tomatoes.
The villagers will be firing up the BBQ, serving succulent lamb, beef, and duck sausages, accompanied by crispy duck fat-cooked chips. For dessert, enjoy an assortment of fresh fruits and creamy goat’s milk ice cream, all perfectly paired with local wines. This promises to be a wonderful celebration of local cuisine and community!

A visit to Maison Guingets chocolate shop/factory and a visit to Duras and our local market . A coffee at our local café Sylvy’s.depart for the airport

Please note: Please note that our itinerary and menus may change according to the seasons, product availability, and local produce freshness. While our gourmet weekends are not exclusively focused on cooking, you’re welcome to get a little hands-on, if you wish. Emma is always willing to get you involved and share some handy culinary tips and tricks of the trade. We’ll mostly handle the cooking, so kick back, relax, and enjoy fantastic food! We cannot wait to see you!

3 nights’ accommodation in a room with a super king-size bed, Egyptian cotton bed linen, flat screen TV, English channels, en-suite bathroom with walk-in showers;

What’s not included?
Please note that flights are not included in the package. If you would like to hire a car, it’s not necessary as we will provide transportation throughout the weekend. Our location is conveniently situated 35 minutes from Bergerac Airport and 80 to 100 minutes from Bordeaux.
Travelling from Bordeaux to our location is quite straightforward. The new tram system, which is located just outside the airport terminal, offers a direct route to Bordeaux’s central train station. From there, you can catch a direct train on the Bergerac-Sarlat-la-Canéda line, alighting at Ste Foy la Grande. We would be pleased to pick you up from the station, which is just a 15-minute drive north of our location.
