Friday arrival 30th June 2023
The Summer is in full bloom and all the night markets and evening vineyard soirees are underway. This 3 night weekend is a snapshot of what Emma & I do in the Summer.
We will to take in a French Nightmarket or Vineyard BBQ, a French market, and/or a Marche de Producteurs and Emma will cook for you some beautiful gourmet meals. I will pull a few corks and light the BBQ. The itinerary may change depending on availability of some of he events so expect great food and wine, amazing al fresco dining, sweeping views, lots of relaxation and great company.
Day 1 Friday
We will pick you up from Bergerac airport on Friday afternoon and take the picturesque 30 minute drive to our house “Les Caulins”. A quick tour of our house & kick off your shoes, settle in, enjoy a welcome drink, a swim and a little bit of relaxing in the pool or your own shady spot.
Early evening we will head off to one of the many night markets in one of the local french villages. You will need a summer dress or shorts and a top and sunglasses as the sun does not set until after 10pm. French night markets are a wonderful experience. Arranged around the streets and village square are large tables . An array of local produces cooking, duck, pork, beef, shucking oysters, salads, crepes and ice cream. We pick our table and order our food along with local wine and sit and enjoy the evening with live music.
Day 2 Saturday
Help yourself to a continental breakfast of warm croissants, toasted pain au mais, House Jam, Tea, Coffee Juice, etc…a relaxing day by the pool with options if you wish. John will be heading to one of Frances biggest street markets, in Ste Foy, to pick up the ingredients for the day and you are more than welcome to join him.
Emma will start the preparation for lunch and dinner & you are welcome to help. Lunch will be something simple from the market, wild mushrooms on toast, a tartine of local goats cheese, walnuts and honey or a table of charcuterie, followed by a light dessert.
After lunch John can take you wine tasting at a local vineyard and or the beautiful chocolate shop in our local town Duras; Or simply spend the rest of the day relaxing in the sunm it is up to you. We will meet around 7.30pm for some fizz and canapés followed by dinner on the shady terrace.

Day 3 Sunday
After breakfast and a swim today we will be visiting the March de Producteur. This is a lazy sunday lunch cooked by the local producers around the village. All served on a terrace with sweeping 15 km views. Lots of delicious, simple food and wine in the sunshine under the shade of trees. It is a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon before going back to the House to relax, have a swim and a snooze.
At 7.30 some more fizz or a cocktail and another dinner or BBQ prepared by Emma.
Monday after a relaxing breakfast or early lunch we can head to the airport for your journey home.
Our 3 day Lifestyle weekend is a perfect summer short break, in the beautiful South West of France, with the emphasis firmly on relaxing, all that is in season and from local producers. The sun set around 10.30 pm so lots of time outside, it will be warm and there is lots of time to spend relaxing by the pool. Three nights with highlights from our 5 day summer lifestyle break. A mix of market visits, lots of relaxing, wine tasting, a tiny bit of cooking, simply amazing food, great local wine and good company. The three night break will leave you wanting more of the Lot-et-Garonne lifestyle, far reaching views, peacefulness and relaxing way of life.

We are 35 minutes from Bergerac airport & 80-100 minutes from Bordeaux. We can arrange a taxi, from Bordeaux Airport, English driver and paid locally.
